I think Part IV,chapter 23, is my favorite so far. So many wonderful sections of prose.

I was drawn in by one of my old favorites by Procol Harum

(Whiter Shade of Pale)

“And so it was later when the miller told this tale. That her face at first just ghostly. Turned a whiter shade of pale.”

However did this pop into your head just at the right moment ? Wait, that sounds intriguing…😊

Ahh! Can’t believe you called it. 🤯 🤯 when I first wrote that exact line, I am not making this up, my autoplaylist changed to Whiter Shade of Pale just after I finished typing it. 🤯 🤯 It’s haunted me ever since (in a good way), and there could be no other name for this chapter.

More poignantly it’s great to hear you’re enjoying the book. :)

Truthfully, I wasn’t even thinking along those lines until I read it over before I posted ! Definitely popped into your head when you needed it. And how many people know Procol Harum.

So is the premise, to consciously control this space in our minds to request, or does the subconscious do the work without our deliberate actions. We certainly know these supposedly coincidental ‘happenings’ show up quite often, at least for me. Probably for you as well. You’re just taking it to a much grander scale. Which I love.

Only recently I figured out that I could post to Notes. I thought only a Substack writer could access that feature. And I am only a reader. Now that I have that option, I try to show my appreciation for the few standouts that a subscribe to by highlighting a favorite passage. Unfortunately, I do not add any of my own thoughts as an introduction. No one cares what a ‘smiling puppy face’ has to say .

I only tell you this , as I wish I could help draw more readers here. Your writing more than deserves a wide audience. Truth be told, I have difficulty getting into a continuing story , unless I have previously read other work by the same writer, as I have with you. I also think many are on vacation this time of year and tend to put their phones down. I do tell friends to come take a look.

Hm.. In one way anything that happens can be considered a coincidence, in the sense of the word “co-inciding..” and “happening” itself could also be called “coincidence..”

As far as the premise, and the mechanism—at least how I see it—I’m aiming to use the book to portray that... hopefully it will become more clear as Part IV continues :)

PS played Whiter Shade of Pale out at a show last night — lots of younger people hadn’t heard it before and really liked it

Thank you so much for what you’ve said about my book and sharing it in your own way.
