"trauma doesn’t need context. It needs to be given space, to be seen and heard and felt, felt with compassion, for the heart to breathe once more." Thank you so much for sharing this story 💕🙏

Wow! Wonderful writing! "These small coincidences did not hold much comfort. Not while shock, and fear, and grief, and anger were still locked within a well of deep trauma." I think not only do they not hold much comfort but also maybe we can't see them with the trauma? I typically use the word synchronicity over coincidence... and define it as being in synch with the Universe or our higher self. I needed to read this today. After reading your writing and looking back a little, I realized that coincidences have been slowly starting to appear again. Oh, and that song at the end... tears flowed so there was a nice little release, and coincidence. Thank you!

Thank you Tania I’m so glad it resonated for you 🙏

“maybe we can't see them with the trauma?” Well said and I agree wholeheartedly!

I couldn’t believe when that Coldplay song started playing in immediate response to the question of how to end the essay - and when I went to post the YouTube link to the song, THAT video of all things popped up. Glad it moved you as well. :)

One of the reasons I like to use the word “coincidence” is because it’s more neutral, whereas “synchronicities” seem to be typically viewed as more positive. I believe that synchronistic patterns are both positive and negative, and the “negative” patterns can actually be more valuable, because they give direct guidance concerning what is out of sync.

Oh, I like that... " and the “negative” patterns can actually be more valuable, because they give direct guidance concerning what is out of sync." That's actually the patterns I've been noticing lately. I found you through Kimberly Warner's Unfixed... so glad I did. Your novel is very well written and presents healing in an accessible language.
